Amazing Human Sailing Feat
Welcome to 2017
The second fast sailing story has to wait, there are just too many amazing events happening in the shorthanded sailing world.
First and this should always stand first when it comes to sailing achievements. Or should I say human achievements. Few, and I mean you can count on one hand the people who can make this happen much less live through it.
Thomas Coville established a new solo (yes, solo) around the world non-stop, unassisted sailing record of 49 day, 3 hrs. 7 min, 38 seconds.
To me there is no other achievement that even stands close to this one. Sure we get daily updates, and are stuffed with media and think ah that is cool. Well sit for one minute and think of sailing non-stop around the world in just over 49 days. Thomas Coville sailing a Maxi trimaran Sodebo Ultim just completed this amazing feat.
I could go on and express how this is one of the biggest sporting achievements in history, but you have to understand what he did to really appreciate it. So instead I will just give you a few links to enjoy some of the videos and press after he finished.
Sodebo Sponsors site: And it is in French as it should be. This is one amazing human. https://www.sodebo.com/fr/voile

A small taste of what it is like sailing a 31 meter sailing machine for 49 days. While you watch from a stabilized lens in a helicopter. Think of what it is like on board. Few humans can do such a feat. RESPECT
