Block Island Wind Farm Support Vessel

Spring has arrived, and time is flying by while getting ready for the fun sailing season to start. Water temp in Dutch Harbor is 45 F today, so this weekend could be my first windsurfing in RI this year. It was nice to get weeks of windsurfing this winter in FL

Speaking of busy, tomorrow I am off on 6am flight to film Seakeeper retrofits, and running footage in FL for two days. That should be a cool shoot.   More when I have the videos edited.

Here are a few stills from an aerial shoot I did for Blount Marine last week through Fleming + Company. It is a new support vessel for the Block Island Wind Farm. That is a full circle working for gear with the wind farm. I filmed this with the same helicopter pilot Jeff Codman, owner of Birds Eye View, (link is a short promo I did for Jeff years ago), together we filmed five years ago the aerial survey for the Block Island wind farm. Nice to see the platforms went up last year, and turbines go up this year. Come on wind power and solar power.

Great looking support boat

The handling of this boat was amazing. Yes, it was a flat water day but the jets and maneuvering was impressive.

I like this boat and how well thought out it is.

Cool bow wave

Time to get the boats going and enjoy the springtime on the water. Be smart and dress for the water temp. And smile every day!
