Dragonfly 25 Sport & Cruze 970
Last week I was in Sarasota Florida windsurfing with my buddy Rick, and the conversation always goes to fast boats. Rick loves multihulls so I mentioned the Dragonfly 25 Sport, built by Dragonfly Boats that I shot during the Dusseldorf Boat show in 2015. What a cool boat with some nice touches that will help control at speed. And what looks like the right about of buoyancy in the amas. So I looked for the link to give him, oops not there. Well I have now changed that and here is the link to a very cool boat shot in…

Chevy 1994 Van
My 1994 hunk of Chevy steel gets some love. Seven years ago I purchased my 1994 Chevy G20 extended van with 50,000 miles for $4K. It has a 305 V8 with overdrive, and runs fantastic. The van came from CT state auction where it was owned by the post office, moving staff from Hartford to New Haven and back. Perfect size and price for my land yacht. Since this is the fourth van I have owned I had a good idea on how to adapt it for my land yacht. It is all about fitting the toys inside and being…

Express 27 outboard bracket
Singlehanded sailing has been a passion of mine, since I was a little 5 year old kid going off sailing for the day in my 8’ Sea Shell Pram. I love having to do all the jobs on the boat. You need a float plan, which is more important when you are on your own. Know how to navigate in all conditions without instruments. Have dialed in sail handling in all conditions, and proper sail combinations, day or night. And be completely present and living the moment. These are just some of the many aspects I love. Oh yea, and…

How to sail videos, part 2
Last weeks post Carol went over some of the lingo used in sailing. This week Carol Newman Cronin will show you how to find out where the wind is coming from. And the basics of how to trim your sails. In these videos we used Carol’s 1938, 21 foot Herreshoff Marlin, Matsya to demonstrate. Matsya is a beautiful classic boat that sails well and is very comfortable. Being wood she is a labor of love. Carol purchased her from the previous owner after she had a major rebuild at MP&G. Follow the links below to view both videos on my…

Flying Phantom Foiling Catamaran
Since the Dusseldorf Boat Show just ended I thought I would go through my Dusseldorf Boat Show archives and pull a cool boat from my filming at past shows. The top .25% of the sailing industry is all about foiling boats. Here is one of the first production catamaran foiling sailboats that hit the market in 2014 at the Dusseldorf boat show. What a cool boat, with well thought out details, and a very high build quality. In the two years since it has been out the design has taken the market by storm. Check out their site. And here…

Tige´ Wakeboard and Wakesurf boats
Here are links to three very cool video boat reviews, all with Tige´ Tow Boats; the Tige´ RZ4, and smaller 20 foot Tige´RZR, and their Tige Z3 tow boat. All of these boats will give you the wakeboard or wakesurfing machine of your dreams. I suggest if you are into riding the wake check these boats out. This was shot on a lake outside of Dallas, Texas with the air temp at 110 degrees. Perfect day to dive and have fun playing the wake. I have filmed Jeff Hemmel on a range of boats. Jeff was excited to do this…
