New Cameras at Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show

Just back from the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show filming and shooting stills of a wide variety of boats. This show offers a range of power craft from a lithium-powered surfboard to 150’ Mega Yachts.

Very exciting show for us, we were using two new cameras that produce amazing images. One of our new film cameras is the Canon C300. This camera uses a new Super 35mm chip that offers fantastic detail and 12.5 stops of latitude. We set our C300 up with a Movcam rig, Sennheisser 2000 wireless system and Canon EF-L glass. With removable lens you have endless options to capture the right field of view and depth of field needed to tell the story. We are very pleased with the sharp picture and amazing latitude.

The other camera we added to our kit is a Canon 5D MKIII 35mm full frame still camera. This camera uses the same lens as the C300 digital 35mm film camera. The 5D MKIII is a 22MP full frame camera that excels in all type of shooting. We have used this camera in the helicopter, on chase boats, and now in a tough run and gun shooting of a boat show. Needless to say we are impressed with the features this camera offers and the stunning quality of the image, and so are our clients.
