PC Sailing and WhiteCap Video Merge

You might have noticed the new link on the home page of our two sites WhiteCap Video & PC Sailing.  This gives a convenient way to visit both sites.  With so many clients using services from both businesses we decided to start linking the sites.  Our blog will now have post from both businesses.  This should be entertaining for the sailing crowd, to read about the technical aspects of our production business, as well as the video production gang learning more about my real life long passion.

Samba Ready to go

So lets start off with a basic video I did last year for my sailing buddies.  This was a trip I took from Jamestown, RI to Essex, CT to visit two of my brothers and their families.  One little catch with this trip is I sailed single-handed (as I often do in the ocean, and have for the last 35 years) on the boat I owned at the time Samba a Quest 30.  Samba will pop up in a few more videos.

The trip down took one day, and then a cruise up with river with my brother Kevin the next.  Following day I sailed home in a mid summer building sea breeze with a gradient squeeze, which you will see at the end.  Enjoy!  SAMBA VIDEO LINK

For the video crowd this was shot with the Canon HF keeping it very simple.  For the sailing crowd flat wake from the Race to House on the Rocks off Jamestown.  Averaging 11.5 kts for that distance with top speed of 16.5 kts in the log.  A fun day I won’t forget.
