Year in review
What a wonderful time of year to be with family and friends enjoying the holidays. Christmas has always been a time for me to reflect on the year and years past, while being excited for the New Year
We had some great evenings on Matsya, Carol’s Herreshoff 1938, 21’ Marlin. She is a pure pleasure to sail when the breeze is under 14 kts. My sister and her husband were on her three times during the 4th of July holiday. She is a perfect boat to take guest sailing.
Kincora was a real treat in 2015 sailing close to a Pacific Cup in shorthanded miles. So nice to have her close to home and ready to go as soon as the time permits. What a great singlehanded trekking machine. Not the fastest I have owned, but she is the best built and best sailing boat I have owned.
Windsurfing was amazing during the fall with a lot of days 16-20 kts, which is perfect for my Carbon Art slalom board with 8.4 sail. The fall here is great for windsurfing, warm water, summer crowd is gone, and the light is so nice and flat making beautiful colors at sunset sailing.
SUP this year has been such a nice way to start the day, even today. I added a SIC F-16 downwind board this Spring. What a blast when we have wind against current. The board is a hoot. I laugh out loud all the time on it catching waves. You work so hard since you don’t want to miss any waves. Also had a fun paddle with Carol down the Narrow River from the Gilbert Stuart Birthplace to the Narragansett Beach on a peak foliage day in October. One of our fall weekly adventures we took this year.
And work, yes I do work full time. Traveled around the country filming at boat shows, VBR’s (video boat reviews), how to videos, and different documentaries. I have also been spending time again in MultiSurf doing design work. Then there is the photography part of business, which has been growing nicely over the last five years. Here are some shots from a shoot at Dutch Island on a beautiful September evening.

As I go back and read above I realize how fortunate I have been in 2015. Living with my wife Carol and sharing our great home and our times together.
