Web site update
Since I purchased the Aphotofolio DesignX template for my site I have been very happy with the results. The template is easy to use, fast to customize, and constantly updated by Aphotofolio. Their template is mostly designed for still photographers, but has worked well for showcasing my videos, stills, and some of my yacht designs. Yes, I am still designing and building products in my new shop.
The last two weeks I have been uploading videos to my Vimeo page, setting up channels for each subject, and have started text changes. So far there are no major glitches. Still lots of videos left to upload. I have decided not to put all of them up on the site but instead keep it around 150-200 videos.
My site used to host the videos embedded. This was ok, but not as easy to use as linking to my Vimeo channels. You will see a change when you click on the menu items under My Films, each will bring you to a channel on Vimeo. I think there is something for everyone.
A little history on what I am searching through. Before 1993 my videos were shot and edited on VHS tapes and 16mm. Wow, was that a slow boat to china way to edit. I have been through 16 mm film, VHS, BETA, 8 mm, hi8mm, HDV, HD cards and disk, 2K & 4K solid state media, now 8K is just around the corner. Cameras are always ahead of the editing software and viewing options, which makes the bleeding edge tough at time.
