Cold Water Lessons Wingfoiling
First Off I want to congratulate Idani Edwards for winning the Antigua Wingfoil Championship. Idani is a real talent and very nice young man, so happy to see him at the top in his home regatta. I was lucky to grab a few shots of Idani one morning in Antigua Dutchman’s Bay. Surprised North has not picked up this talent for their team. See some fun pictures of Idani here. Ok, now to the old people wingfoiling. We have been out on the water starting 20 March after coming back from Antigua. Here are a few lessons learned, and some…

Both will be mixed together in the galleries. New albums and galleries will be going up each day for the…

Antigua, Caribbean 600 Race
We are in Antigua for the RORC Caribbean 600 Race, and of course wingfoiling most days. As many of you know Carol is writing a book about Hound which won her class last year. This year Hound made the podium again. Great boat and fantastic team. I was hired for detail photographs of Hound in Newport/Jamestown, and in Antigua did a training sail. Below is a quick gallery I put together, from the start of the 600. There is a lot more to come. I will build individual boat galleries as requested, and each for class. There will be a…

Breaking the Winter Photography Blues
Welcome to winter, you wake up and see another gray on gray day. Your camera gear is ready to go but you are not too excited about what to shoot. Take the challenge below and enjoy the gray on gray light to improve your creativity. When it comes down to it we are only shooting light. Gray on gray is still light. Sure it would be nice to have a post cold front with lots of clouds, wind, fast changing weather, and sun. That will come but, in January/February try getting present with the conditions. In the winter I go…

Training the Machine Part 2
OK, for part 2 let’s dive into the fitness discussion. Good time of year to refine your training for the upcoming season. I will repeat what I said in part 1 that we are all different, and have different physical needs to bring the machine to top performance. But we all have the same end goal, to tune us so we have the opportunity to get into the flow state. But to get into the flow state does not just happen by chance, you have to train for it, just as you have to do with all the elements of…
