Express 27 trailer rebuild
When I purchased Kincora I placed the trailer value at $800 which I think was accurate. Knowing the trailer was rusted and would need a lot of work to be safe an pass my road worthy inspection. Before the trailer could be rebuilt I needed to get it home from Maine with the boat. This required the brakes to be removed, which the previous owner kindly set up with the local garage along with a few quick fixes. The brake lines had been cut an I feared going down Rt. 95 and having the brakes seize up would be a…

Express 27 Purchase
Kincora purchase and pre-launch work 2014: I was looking for a Santa Cruz built ULDB. I have always loved the Fast is Fun concept and still think they did a better job then most of the newer boats at a fraction of the cost. My preferred way to sail is single-handed or double handed with the right person. So the hunt was on for an Olson 30, Express 27 (first choice), Santa Cruz 27, Hobie 33 or Moore 24, was on. These are the boats allowed in our New England shorthanded club. Early April 2014 I purchased Kincora (ex Rambling…

Dusseldorf Boat Show 2015
Just back from a fantastic time at the Dusseldorf boat show. If you are not familiar with this show it is the biggest indoor boat show in the world. Seventeen display halls with different product in each hall. I was at the show filming new product releases. We shot 44 videos in three days of filming. Yup, it was a fun, flat out schedule. Over the last 47 years I have been to most of the boat shows in North America and a bunch in Europe. This show has the most diverse range of products and some of the coolest…

Kincora evening sail
Just wanted to share a short clip from a fun evening I had sailing on Kincora my Express 27. She is a great boat and one of the more playful boats I have sailed. Sure I have sailed a lot faster and more powerful boats, but the fun factor of the Express 27 singlehanded is hard to beat. Closing in on 1,000 miles since her launching in mid June and still two months left in the season. Finally I am starting to manage my work were taking video on Kincora fits my schedule. So here is a short clip of…

PCS Blog back up
Sorry for the blog being down it was hacked. This has become a problem with all wordpress blogs. It has been a while since my last post and a lot has happened. Here is a shot bringing back my new (to me) Kincora an Express 27 back from Maine. I sailed up single handed with a friend John Manderson who also sailed up single handed with his Olson 30. A beat to the Cape Cod Canal then spinnaker runs all the way to Blue Hill Maine. Just what our boats love. One day we had 6 hrs of 22-26 kts…

Schooner Man
Hi family and friends, There are a few new boats in the family let me introduce you to Schooner Man. Feb 2013, I started SUP after seeing Carol have so much fun paddling. So I purchased a Bark 14’ Dominator and really got hooked on my first paddle. When you only have to carry the board 150’ to the dock or beach it makes you realize, how blessed we are to live. And of course how blessed I am to be married to Carol. I had a great year (we paddle year round) of paddling the Bark. While paddling my…
